Administers Major Business Programs
The office's largest division; it handles the registration of business entities (like corporations and LLCs) and manages state trademarks and service marks.
Operates the State Archives
Safeguards the California State Archives, which include historical records, the state constitution, and the Great Seal of California.
Runs Various Public Services & Registries
Commissions notaries public, manages the "Safe at Home" confidential address program for survivors of domestic violence, and maintains registries for domestic partners and advance health care directives.
